About this job
Our company is looking for a cross-border truck driver to run freight between Canada and the US Midwest. You'll cover roughly 10,000 to 12,000 miles a month, so expect to be on the road full-time.
Pay
- Starting at $23.00 per hour
What you'll do
- Drive a commercial vehicle on long-distance runs between Canada and the US Midwest
- Plan your routes and keep to delivery timelines
- Check your truck for mechanical problems and handle minor repairs yourself when needed
- Log your deliveries, mileage and fuel use accurately
- Follow all traffic laws and regulations along the way
Requirements
- Valid Class 1 licence
- Clean driving history with no major violations
- At least 1 year of commercial driving experience in a long haul or comparable role
- Working knowledge of vehicle upkeep and basic repairs
- Good time management to hit delivery deadlines
- Solid communication skills
- Valid US visa
- Ready to travel 100% of the time, living on the road
Work environment
- Based out of a modern office setting when not on the road, with food provided
