About this job
Our company is hiring CDL Bus Drivers in Fort Bend County, Texas to run commuter fixed routes into Houston and demand-response local service, under contract with Fort Bend County Public Transportation. This is full-time, year-round work paying $20.50 an hour, including during training.
Pay
- $20.50 per hour, including paid training
Schedule
- Commuter fixed route: Fort Bend County to Houston Downtown, Medical Center, Greenway Plaza, and the Energy Corridor, running 4:30 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., Monday through Friday
- Demand response local: door-to-door or curb-to-curb service within Fort Bend County, running 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., Monday through Friday
- You may be scheduled for day, evening, weekend, or overnight shifts
What you'll do
- Drive your assigned route safely and on schedule, following all traffic laws
- Help passengers board, ride comfortably, and get off safely
- Complete pre-trip and post-trip inspections and report any maintenance issues
- Follow company safety policies, including seat belt enforcement and emergency procedures
Requirements
- Valid CDL with Passenger and Air Brake endorsements
- At least 21 years old
- Minimum of 3 years of driving experience, personal or professional
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Must pass a DOT drug screen and physical; marijuana use is not permitted under DOT rules even where legal
- Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
