About this job
Our company hauls roll-off containers around Boling for job sites, businesses and homeowners across Wharton, Matagorda, Brazoria and Fort Bend counties. This is local, no-overnight work with a small, owner-run company, and discounted housing is available if you're moving to the area.
Pay
- $24.00-$28.00 per hour, based on experience, paid weekly
- Typical schedule runs 50-60 hours a week with overtime past 40, including some Saturdays
- Most drivers bring home $1,300-$1,700 weekly
- Training is paid, so you earn while learning the trucks and routes
Home time
You're back home every night, not stuck at a truck stop.
Housing
The company owns nearby rental cottages and offers them to drivers at a reduced rate. If finding a place to live has been holding you back from relocating for this job, that's covered, you'll have somewhere to stay from your first day. Details on cost and availability come up during the phone call.
What you'll haul
- Drop off, switch out and collect roll-off containers at customer locations
- Cover every loaded container with a tarp before driving
- Tell the difference between MSW, construction and demolition debris, and clean commodities, and check with the scale house if you're unsure
- Keep accurate logs and complete pre- and post-trip inspections, reporting any issues honestly
- Handle basic upkeep on your truck yourself; a diesel mechanic on site covers bigger repairs
- Build good relationships with customers, many of whom have direct cell access to the company
Requirements
- Valid Texas CDL - Class B covers most of the fleet, Class A qualifies you for more equipment and pay
- Current DOT medical card
- Comfortable driving an automatic transmission
- A workable driving history - the company reviews your full record rather than ruling you out for one past ticket
- Able to pass a DOT drug test
- Ready to work outdoors in Gulf Coast heat
