CDL-B Pickup & Delivery Driver — $29.88–$34.60/hr

Our company in North Billerica, MA needs a CDL-B driver to run pickup and delivery routes between service centers and customer locations, handling freight along the way.

Pay

• Starts at $29.88 per hour, with a range up to $34.60 per hour depending on experience, tenure and other job-related factors

• If you're assigned linehaul work, you'll earn per-mile pay plus fixed amounts for certain linehaul tasks, calculated as a portion (3/4, 1/2 or 1/4) of your hourly rate rather than by time spent

What you'll do

• Drive straight trucks on pickup and delivery runs, keeping to schedule while giving customers friendly, professional service and looking for new business opportunities

• Secure loads with pallets, straps and rope, and load or unload freight using forklifts, pallet jacks, hand trucks or by hand

• Run pre-trip and post-trip equipment checks, chain tires when needed, and handle hazmat placarding and procedures correctly

• Keep dispatch updated on delays, arrivals or truck issues, fix damaged freight when you can, and stay on top of paperwork, reports and freight-charge collections

Requirements

• Valid Class B CDL with hazmat and tank endorsements (if you don't yet have the hazmat endorsement, you'll need to get it within 120 days of accepting the offer, and can't drive without it)

• Automatic transmission restriction on your CDL is fine

• At least one year driving a straight truck or similar vehicle in the past three years, or completion of our company's Driver Development Course

• Minimum age 21, with a clean enough driving record to meet company hiring standards

• Comfortable with basic math, reading route schedules, lifting and carrying up to 100 pounds, and the physical demands of climbing in and out of the truck and sitting for long stretches

• Strong communication skills and the ability to work solo or alongside a team, following instructions and completing required training

• Ready to work in all weather, indoors and outdoors, around noise, diesel fumes and hazardous materials, with hours that can shift based on business needs
