About this job
Our company in Jermyn, PA is looking for an experienced CDL-A driver to haul trailers on local routes with nightly home time. Most loads are drop and hook, and you'll work with flatbeds and walk-in floor trailers.
Pay and schedule
- Paid by the hour
- You'll be back home every night
- Availability on Saturdays is a plus but not required
- Full-time and part-time positions available
What you'll haul
- About 90% of freight is drop and hook
- Trailers include tractor-trailers, flatbeds and walk-in floor (mulch) trailers
- You'll do yard checks at vendor and customer distribution centers
What you'll do
- Drive trucks with manual transmissions
- Complete pre-trip and post-trip inspections
- Keep accurate logs, delivery records and maintenance notes
- Follow DOT rules, traffic laws and company safety procedures
- Help plan efficient routes and delivery timing
- Keep in touch with the team and customers about delivery updates
Requirements
- Valid CDL with endorsements matching the equipment you'll run (such as tanker or flatbed)
- At least 1 year of driving experience
- Current medical card required before you apply
- Clean driving record with a strong safety history
- Experience with mulch or walk-in floor trailers is a plus
- Experience doing field repairs on trailer tires and brakes is a plus - mention this on your application if it applies to you
