About this job
Our company is looking for a CDL-A truck driver in Eugene, OR to run tractor-trailer combinations, including doubles and triples, while getting home every day. You'll handle loading, unloading and customer service as part of the role.
Pay
- Experienced drivers can start at $36.30 per hour
- Classified as a Motor Carrier Act Exempt position
Home time
- Home daily
- Schedule is flexible and may run 12-14 hours a day, covering days, nights and weekends
What you'll do
- Drive tractor-trailer combinations, including doubles and triples, for up to 11 consecutive hours in varying weather
- Load and unload freight
- Interact with customers and help generate sales leads
- Lift items that are typically up to 50 lbs and sometimes over 75 lbs, and move a converter dolly that pulls around 128 lbs on average
- Climb into and out of the cab and trailer, stand and walk on surfaces that can be uneven or slick, and work outdoors in all kinds of weather
- Bend, twist, kneel, squat, reach overhead, push and pull as needed
- Sit for long stretches while driving or operating a forklift
Requirements
- At least 21 years old
- Valid Class A CDL
- Clean driving history
- Willing to get hazmat, tank vehicle and doubles/triples endorsements within 90 days if you don't already have them
- Must pass a DOT drug screen, with no positive results or refusals in the past 3 years
- Valid DOT Medical Certification Card, or ability to pass a DOT physical paid for by the company
- Able to read and speak English well enough to talk with the public, understand road signs, respond to official requests, and fill out reports
- Forklift experience and existing hazmat, tank and doubles/triples endorsements are a plus
