CDL-A Truck Driver — Home Daily, $36.30/hr for Experienced Drivers

Our company is looking for a CDL-A truck driver in Columbia, MO to run tractor-trailer combinations, including doubles and triples, on a home daily schedule. You'll work nights, with occasional day and weekend shifts, handling freight and customer service along your route.

Pay

• Experienced drivers can start at $36.30 per hour

• This role is classified as exempt under the Motor Carrier Act

Schedule

• Home every day

• Shift runs Monday through Friday, 8:00 PM to 10:00 AM

• Be ready for shifts lasting up to 12-14 hours, across days, nights and weekends

• Driving stretches can run up to 11 consecutive hours in varying weather

What you'll haul

• Both hazardous and non-hazardous materials

• You'll operate tractor-trailers, including doubles and triples configurations

What the job involves

• Operating the truck safely in all conditions

• Loading and unloading freight

• Interacting with customers, including identifying potential sales opportunities

• Lifting items of different sizes and weights, often up to 50 lbs and sometimes over 75 lbs

• Maneuvering a converter dolly weighing roughly 128 lbs

• Getting in and out of the cab and trailer, climbing, bending, reaching overhead, pushing, pulling, kneeling and squatting

• Standing and walking for long stretches, sometimes on uneven or slick ground, including outdoor work in bad weather

• Sitting for long periods while driving or operating a forklift

Requirements

• At least 21 years old

• Valid Class A CDL

• Clean driving history

• Hazmat, tanker and doubles/triples endorsements, or willingness to get them within 90 days of hire

• Must pass a DOT drug screening, with no positive results or refusals in the past 3 years

• Valid DOT medical card, or ability to pass a company-paid DOT physical

• Sufficient English skills to communicate with the public, read traffic signs, respond to official requests and complete paperwork, per federal requirements

Preferred

• Forklift experience

• Already holding hazmat, tanker and doubles/triples endorsements
