Our company, a family-owned carrier based in Morristown, IN, needs experienced CDL-A drivers to haul food-grade tanker freight (soybean oil, corn syrup, chocolate products) on local and regional routes out of Connersville, IN. You'll get newer trucks, fewer overnight runs than traditional OTR work, and home time multiple times per week.
Pay
- Top earners bring in $90,000+ a year; average drivers see $70,000-$80,000+

Home time
- Mostly afternoon and evening start times
- A blend of local out-and-back loads and regional runs
- Overnights are limited compared to standard OTR, though you can choose to run 2-3 nights for better-paying longer loads
- Park your truck at home or at the terminal
What you'll haul
- Food-grade tanker freight, including soybean oil, corn syrup and chocolate products
- A mix of drop-and-hook and live loading/unloading
- Assigned late-model trucks equipped with free XM Radio
- Some opportunities for lower-traffic night driving
What the job involves
- Hauling tanker freight safely and keeping ELD logs and paperwork current
- Completing pre-trip and post-trip inspections
- Staying in professional contact with dispatch and customers
- Following FMCSA rules and company safety policy
- Planning your routes and managing your time on the road
Requirements
- Valid Class A CDL with tanker endorsement
- At least 12 months of recent experience driving tractor-trailers
- At least 21 years old
- Clean driving record and acceptable MVR
- Able to pass a DOT physical, drug screen, and ergonomic/capability test
- Reimbursement available once you're hired
- Comfortable reading, writing and speaking English
