About this job
Our company recycles and distributes industrial wood and steel utility poles for electric utilities and industrial partners nationwide. They're hiring a CDL-A Support Driver to back up their logistics team, with a focus on keeping deliveries and field operations running smoothly, including during storm response work.
What you'll do
- Drive company vehicles to support deliveries, logistics, and field operations
- Haul materials, equipment, and supplies to project sites
- Keep delivery logs, mileage records, and compliance paperwork accurate
- Stay in contact with dispatch and managers on routing, delays, and updates
- Help cover emergency and high-volume periods, including storm deployments
- Complete pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
- Follow safety rules and regulations at the federal, state, and company level
- Act professionally with customers and coworkers
Schedule and travel
- Normally home every other weekend
- Schedule can change based on storm activity, workload, or emergency callouts
- Expect overnight stays during major projects or weather mobilizations, with trips away from home for up to two weeks at a time
Requirements
- Must live in the Midwest
- Valid CDL-A with a clean, verifiable driving record
- Able to drive for long stretches, sometimes in tough conditions
- Reliable, safety-minded, and a strong communicator
- Able to lift, load, and move materials up to the company's specified weight limits
This is a full-time position.
