CDL-A Solo OTR Truck Driver — Up to 30% of Line Haul + Bonuses

Our company is looking for experienced solo CDL-A drivers based in or near San Antonio, TX to run OTR routes across the country. San Antonio is a strong freight market for the company, and routes often start or end in the area, which helps with home time.

Pay

Pay is performance-based and you can switch between two pay structures whenever you want.

• Percentage plan: up to 30% of line haul plus bonuses. This is the option most solo drivers choose, since 87% of drivers picked it in 2025.

• Mileage plan: up to $0.65 per mile plus bonuses based on your experience and driving record, typically running 2,500 to 3,600 miles per week.

• Team drivers are paid by mileage only, up to $0.75 per mile split between the team, averaging $2,000-$2,600 per driver weekly. Right now the company says solo percentage pay performs better in this market.

Weekly gross for solo drivers has averaged $1,900-$2,400, with some weeks reaching $2,700+ depending on legal hours and the season. Earnings tend to dip in Q1 and rise in Q2 and Q4. Drivers who stuck with it through 2025 earned between $115,000 and $125,000 for the year, and some top performers made as much as $145,000.

All freight is no-touch, in dry van or reefer trailers.

Home time

Home time is flexible and reliable, with OTR routes frequently routed through the San Antonio area. You can take your truck home during home time, and parking support is available.

Requirements

• Valid Class A CDL with no pending suspensions (endorsements are a plus)

• At least 2 years of verifiable CDL driving experience

• At least 3 years of verifiable work history, driving or otherwise

• Clean motor vehicle record and an acceptable PSP report

• Current, valid medical card

• No failed or refused drug/alcohol tests in the last 4 years

• No DWI, DUI, or BAC convictions in the last 4 years

• No reckless driving convictions in the last 3 years

• No more than 3 moving violations or accidents in the last 3 years

• No license suspension for points or unpaid tickets in the last 3 years

• No more than 2 moving violations in the past year

• Comfortable working with modern ELD systems

• Able to pass a pre-employment drug screen

• Physically able to handle the demands of long-haul driving
