CDL-A Shuttle Driver (Doubles) — $60,000–$70,000/yr + $5,000 Sign-On

Our company is hiring a CDL-A shuttle driver in Abilene, TX to move trailers between its warehouse and the shuttle yards. You will run tandem (doubles) or tractor-trailer combinations on night shifts, taking empty trailers out and bringing loaded ones back.

Pay

• $60,000 to $70,000 per year.

• Performance bonus of $450 per quarter, plus a $200 kicker; earn all four quarters and it adds up to $2,000.

• $5,000 sign-on bonus (terms apply). Anyone who worked for a Performance Food Group company in the last 6 months does not qualify.

Schedule

• Sunday through Friday, dispatching between 2:30pm and midnight depending on the load.

• Expect 1 to 3 trips per shift.

• Third-shift work, Sunday-Thursday nights, though schedules can vary.

• Training lasts 2 weeks in Temple, TX.

What you'll do

• Take empty trailers to the warehouse and bring full trailers back to the shuttle yard.

• Run pre- and post-trip safety inspections and report any defects or hazards.

• Hook and unhook trailers, confirm freight is loaded and secured, and keep routes paperwork with the load.

• Pick up damaged goods and customer returns, and complete the paperwork.

• Log your hours of service according to DOT and company rules.

• Keep the cab, dock area and trailers tidy.

Requirements

• Valid CDL-A with a Doubles endorsement.

• 6 to 12 months of commercial driving experience.

• At least 21 years old, with a high school diploma, GED or equivalent experience.

• Clean motor vehicle record for the past 3 years.

• Pass a drug test and a road test; hold a current DOT medical card or be able to get one.

• Able to lift and move cases of roughly 60 to 90 pounds using a two-wheeler or lift gate.
