CDL-A Road Driver — $0.7747–$0.8967/Mile Linehaul

Our company is looking for a Road Driver to move trailers between service centers and turn-point locations using tractor-trailer combinations, including doubles and triples where applicable.

Pay

• Linehaul work pays $0.7747 to $0.8967 per mile, plus fixed amounts for certain linehaul-related tasks based on a fraction of the hourly rate rather than time spent

• Non-linehaul work pays $33.63 to $38.94 per hour

• Actual pay depends on experience, location, schedule and other job-related factors

What you'll haul

• Tractor-trailer combinations, including doubles and triples in states where long combination vehicles are run

• Freight that may include hazardous materials shipped under DOT rules

What the job involves

• Pre-trip and safety inspections every day

• Hooking and unhooking trailers and converter dollies

• Keeping accurate logs and paperwork

• Staying in touch with dispatch about delays, arrivals and equipment issues

• Loading and unloading freight, chaining tires when needed, and occasionally covering city driver or dock work

Requirements

• Class A CDL with doubles/triples and tank endorsements; hazmat endorsement must be earned within 120 days of starting

• At least 1 year of driving experience in the last 3 years, or completion of our company's Driver Development Course

• Acceptable driving record and ability to meet DOT qualification standards

• Comfortable lifting around 100 pounds repeatedly to handle trailer connections, and able to sit for long stretches, climb in and out of the cab, and bend or twist as needed

• Able to work independently or as part of a team, follow instructions and complete training
