CDL-A Road Driver — $0.7162/Mile Linehaul or $31.26/Hr Non-Linehaul

Our company is looking for a Road Driver in Terre Haute, IN to haul trailers between service centers and turn-point locations using tractor-trailer combinations, including doubles and triples where applicable.

Pay

• $0.7162 per mile for linehaul work

• $31.26 per hour for non-linehaul work

What you'll do

• Drive tractor-trailer combinations, including doubles and triples where required

• Complete pre-trip inspections and daily safety checks on your equipment

• Connect and disconnect trailers and converter dollies

• Keep accurate logs and finish all required paperwork

• Follow hazmat rules and procedures

• Stay in contact with dispatch about delays, arrivals, or equipment issues

• Chain tires when conditions call for it

• Step in on city driving or dock work when the operation needs it

• Load and unload freight as needed

• Follow all applicable laws, regulations and company policies

Requirements

• Class A CDL with doubles/triples, hazmat and tank endorsements (automatic transmission restriction is fine)

• At least 1 year of driving experience in the last 3 years, or completion of the our company Driver Development Course

• Clean MVR that meets hiring standards

• Must satisfy DOT requirements under FMC regulation section 391

• If dispatched on long combination vehicles (triples, Rocky Mountain Doubles, Turnpike Doubles) in AZ, CO, FL, ID, IN, KS, MT, ND, NV, OH, OK, OR, SD or UT, you must meet the LCV qualification and certification standards for those states

• Solid basic reading, writing and verbal communication skills

• Able to hook and unhook trailer sets requiring roughly 100 pounds of lift force multiple times per day

• Able to sit for long stretches, and to bend, twist, squat and climb in and out of the cab

• Able to follow directions and complete required training

• Comfortable working alone or as part of a team, with initiative and motivation

• If you don't already hold it, you'll need to get your hazmat endorsement within 120 days of accepting the offer; you can't drive without it

Working conditions

• Long-distance driving day and night, in all road and weather conditions

• Exposure to noise, vibration, dust and diesel fumes

• Exposure to hazardous materials shipped under DOT rules

• Schedule and hours can shift based on operational needs

• Some runs may require overnight stays
