About this job

Run western lanes out of the Flathead Valley on a no-touch dry van account, with paid training built in for new CDL-A grads. All freight stays west of the Mississippi River, and new license holders ride with a paid mentor before going solo.

Pay

  • Paid weekly, including during training
  • Guaranteed $1,000 a week for your first 3 months once you're solo
  • About $1,400 a week once you're established solo
  • Roughly 1,900 miles a week
  • $15 per stop

Home time

Expect to be out on the road about two weeks at a stretch before heading home.

What you'll haul

Dry van freight, no-touch, with a mix of drop-and-hook, live loads and preloads. Lanes run west of the Mississippi, which means mountain passes and winter driving conditions come with the territory.

Getting started as a new driver

  • A phone call first, where your license and driving record get reviewed together so there are no surprises later
  • Orientation lasting up to 2 days, with your hotel covered, bus fare reimbursed, and a $300 payment once you're hired
  • One-on-one mentor training for 4 to 6 weeks, paid weekly
  • Your own assigned truck once solo, from a fleet averaging about 1.5 years old

Requirements

  • Age 21 or older with a Class A CDL
  • New drivers need 120+ hours of CDL school; otherwise 6 months of recent driving experience
  • Up to 2 moving violations in the past 2 years is fine
  • No DUI or DWI in the last 10 years
  • Must pass a DOT physical along with a hair and urine drug screen

Benefits

After your first 30 days: medical, dental, vision and prescription coverage, a 401(k), an employee stock purchase plan, paid vacation, annual raises, and a free online degree program for you plus one family member. Riders and pets are welcome, and trainees can bring a dog once they've finished training.

The hiring carrier's name is shared with you once you apply through the DriverRoll app, where you can message them directly.
