About this job
Our company, a new carrier based in Troutdale, OR, is looking for a CDL-A driver to run regional I-84 freight through Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Utah and Montana. You'll be one of the first drivers at this carrier, with room to grow as the operation scales.
Pay
- Salaried at $90,000 to $110,000 a year, paid weekly
- Pay doesn't change with mileage, so a slower week pays the same as a busy one
- W-2 position
- Safety and performance bonuses will be added as the company grows
Home time
- Home every week, with no more than 3 days out at a stretch
- You'll take your 34-hour reset at home, typically over the weekend
What you'll haul
- Regional freight on I-84 lanes through OR, WA, ID, UT and MT
- You'll be assigned a 2022 Peterbilt 579, no slip seating
- Routes are still being established as this new operation builds volume, so departure times, days and load counts may shift for now
- Deliveries run on set pickup and delivery windows
What the job involves
- Operating a Class 8 tractor-trailer safely on these regional routes
- Meeting your scheduled pickup and delivery times
- Completing pre-trip and post-trip inspections and logging hours of service through Motive
- Communicating with dispatch about load progress, delays or issues
- Keeping your assigned truck clean and well maintained
- Following all DOT and FMCSA regulations
Requirements
- CDL-A license
- Doubles/Triples (T) endorsement
- Clean driving record with a solid safety history
- Able to work independently and manage your own schedule
- Must pass a DOT physical and drug test
- Hiring is based on the type of experience you have, not years behind the wheel; regional, account-based, drop-and-hook or doubles experience is a good fit
Benefits
- Medical, dental and vision insurance
- Paid sick time and PTO
