About this job
Our company in Chambersburg, PA is looking for an Over-the-Road Driver to haul bread, rolls and snack products by tractor-trailer. You'll run a mix of home daily routes and layover trips, with some night driving involved.
What you'll do
- Drive a gas or diesel tractor-trailer to deliver finished product to destinations
- Check your truck before and after each trip and report any issues
- Keep accurate logs per I.C. regulations
- Handle dock work: unload product at warehouses, match it against orders, run an electric or manual jack, and load stale product and empty baskets back onto the truck
- Move tractor-trailers around plant locations as needed
- Run special orders and help move bulk product between production plants
- Follow safety, food safety and Good Manufacturing Practices, including treating the truck with a bug bomb after each shift
- Keep your truck clean through regular washes
Schedule
Expect a combination of home daily runs and layover trips, including some night-time driving. You'll generally work independently with little supervision.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- 2+ years of OTR experience
- Class A license required (able to operate combination vehicles with a GVWR of 26,001+ lbs towing more than 10,000 lbs); appropriate endorsements needed where applicable
- TWIC Card preferred
- Must meet DOT physical requirements and follow federal motor carrier rules
- Able to lift/move up to 25 lbs regularly and up to 50 lbs occasionally

About the work environment
You'll be exposed to fumes or airborne particles often and occasionally work outdoors in varying weather. Noise levels are generally moderate.
