About this job
Our company is hiring CDL-A drivers out of Dallas, TX for several types of routes, including a USPS contract position with drop-and-hook freight. Where you land depends on your ZIP code, your experience level, and the home time you want.
Pay and experience levels
- Trainee: under 3 months of Class A experience, no prior driving experience needed, paid training offered, approximately $700 per week. You'll need a physical CDL-A already in hand or coming soon.
- Local: at least 3 months of Class A experience, approximately $1,400 per week, home every day.
- Regional: at least 4 months of Class A experience, approximately $1,800 per week, home every few days or weekly depending on the account.
- OTR dedicated: at least 6 months of Class A experience, approximately $2,300 per week, with a tougher home-time schedule but stronger pay.
- OTR USPS: at least 2 years of Class A experience, approximately $2,300 per week, running steady USPS contract freight year-round.
What you'll haul
Most loads are USPS contract freight on dedicated accounts, and the work is mostly drop-and-hook so you won't spend much time loading or unloading.
Where you'll run
Routes mainly stay east of I-35, covering the Midwest, South, and Southeast. There's no West Coast or New York City freight on these routes.
Equipment
Trucks range from 2022 to 2026 models and are kept in good working order. Which truck you get depends on your account and what's available.
Home time
Local drivers are home daily. Regional drivers are home every few days or weekly, depending on the account. OTR schedules are less predictable but open to drivers across almost the entire country, while local and regional slots depend on where you live.
The hiring carrier's name is shared with you once you apply through the DriverRoll app, where you can message them directly.
