Our company is a family-owned food company looking for over-the-road drivers to haul its products across the country as part of its private fleet. You'll run newer equipment, represent the brand at every stop, and keep safety and customer service front and center.
Pay and bonus
- Drivers cover an average of 2,300 miles per week and earn a solid annual wage.
- A monthly bonus is available on top of base pay.
- You can boost your income further by breaking down customer orders yourself, or choose to pay a lumping service to unload freight instead.
- Actual pay can shift depending on your experience, skill set and location.
What you'll haul
- You'll operate 2020-or-newer tractors paired with late-model Great Dane refrigerated trailers.
What the job involves
- Running thorough pre-trip and safety inspections on your equipment.
- Logging any mechanical issues through the E-DVIR system.
- Staying compliant with FMCSA rules at all times.
- Hitting scheduled appointment windows, getting the right signatures on bills of lading, and keeping dispatch updated if anything runs behind.
- Representing the company well and keeping a strong focus on customer service, attention to detail and safe driving habits.
Requirements
- Class A CDL.
- At least 21 years old.
- Either 100,000 miles of driving experience or a certificate from an accredited truck driving school.
- Two years of recent OTR experience is a plus, as is background hauling refrigerated food freight.
- A driving record that satisfies both company policy and DOT standards.
- Basic math and map-reading ability, some mechanical know-how, and computer skills are helpful.
- You must be authorized to work in the country where this job is based, with no sponsorship needed now or later.
