About this job
Our company in Affton, MO is hiring an experienced over-the-road driver to haul goods between plants, retail sites and distribution centers. You'll run Monday through Friday with weekends off, and there's optional evening or weekend work if you want extra hours.
Pay
- $0.58 to $0.68 per mile
Home time
- Home on weekends
- Monday-Friday schedule, with optional evening/weekend shifts when available
What you'll haul
- Finished goods and raw materials moved between manufacturing plants, retail locations and distribution centers
What you'll do
- Check your truck for mechanical problems and safety concerns, and keep up with routine maintenance
- Hit delivery windows on time
- Keep accurate logs of driving and rest hours, mileage, and hang on to fuel and toll receipts
- Follow all applicable trucking laws and company rules, including those covering size, weight, routes, parking and breaks
- Back trucks into loading and unloading spots
- Confirm delivery details before and during each run
- Flag any equipment issues, accidents or violations right away
Requirements
- At least 2 years of verifiable truck driving experience
- Solid working knowledge of trucking regulations
- Clean driving record, no recent violations
- Able to adjust on the fly to things like bad weather or traffic
- Valid CDL A
- Familiarity with reefer units is a bonus, not required
