CDL-A OTR Truck Driver — Home Most Weekends

Our company is looking for an OTR CDL-A driver to haul the company's own windows and doors across the United States. There's no brokered freight, and you'll be home most weekends despite running long routes.

What you'll haul

• Quaker-made windows, doors and related materials, all company freight, no brokered loads

• You'll help unload at delivery sites, including removing straps and prepping product, unless the customer handles that

Schedule and routes

• Runs cover the continental US

• Expect 1 to 4 trips a week, usually leaving Sunday or Monday with occasional nights away

• Typical weekly mileage runs 1,800 to 2,500 miles

• You can be on duty up to 14 hours a day (11 hours of driving) and up to 70 hours over 8 days, in any weather, any time of day

• Most weeks bring you home for the weekend

Requirements

• Valid Class A CDL and at least 21 years old

• At least 2 years of verifiable driving experience, or you can prove your skills through a company road test

• No more than 2 chargeable or preventable accidents in the last 5 years

• No more than 3 moving violations (parking tickets don't count) in the last 2 years

• No DUI or drug-related driving convictions in the last 5 years

• Comfortable using GPS and other onboard navigation tools

• Able to climb in and out of the cab, sit for long stretches, and move carts up to 100 lbs regularly (occasionally up to 400 lbs); anything over 75 lbs requires a team lift

On the job

You'll keep electronic logs, complete pre-trip inspections, secure cargo, handle delivery paperwork and proofs of delivery, and deal directly with customers, suppliers and law enforcement. You'll sleep in the truck's sleeper berth during your required 10-hour off-duty periods.
