About this job
Our company is looking for a full-time OTR Class A driver to work out of Covington, GA, running long-haul freight and staying in regular touch with dispatch for pickups and deliveries.
What you'll do
- Run scheduled pickups and deliveries on long-distance routes
- Map out your routes and keep dispatch posted on your progress and any delays
- Do pre-trip and post-trip checks on the truck and trailer
- Secure your freight and keep trip and delivery paperwork in order
- Flag any equipment problems or safety concerns right away
- Stay compliant with DOT rules, hours-of-service limits, and safe driving habits
Requirements
- Valid Class A CDL with a current medical card
- 1+ year of commercial driving experience; OTR or long-haul background is a plus
- No more than 2 moving violations on your driving record
- Solid grasp of DOT rules, HOS limits, e-logs, and how to secure a load
- Comfortable being away from home overnight based on dispatch
- Able to climb in and out of the cab and trailer for inspections
