About this job
Our company is looking for a CDL-A driver to run over-the-road freight out of Evansville, IN. You'll handle a mix of trailer types and keep every load moving safely and on time while following federal trucking rules.
What you'll haul
- A variety of equipment, including reefer trailers, flatbeds, tankers and auto-transport units
- Freight that may include hazardous materials, handled per hazmat rules
- Loads requiring careful loading and unloading to avoid damage or loss
What you'll do
- Drive manual-transmission tractor-trailers on OTR routes, staying compliant with FMCSA and DOT rules
- Plan efficient routes using GPS and keep deliveries on schedule
- Complete pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
- Load and unload freight by hand when needed
- Keep accurate hours-of-service logs, delivery paperwork and incident reports
- Stay in touch with dispatch and customers to coordinate schedules and handle any issues on the road
Requirements
- Valid CDL-A with proven commercial driving experience
- Comfortable operating reefer, flatbed, tanker and auto-transport equipment
- Solid knowledge of FMCSA, DOT and hazmat regulations
- Experience loading and unloading different freight types, including dangerous goods
- Strong safe-driving record and route-planning ability
Pay
$1,200.00 - $1,500.00 per week
