About this job
Our company in Evansville, IN is looking for a CDL-A driver to haul freight over the road using a mix of equipment types, including reefer, flatbed and tanker trailers. You'll handle long-distance runs while keeping safety and compliance front and center.
Pay
- $1,200.00 to $1,500.00 per week
What you'll haul
- Freight moved over the road across a variety of routes
- Equipment includes refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers and auto-transport units
- Cargo may include hazardous materials, handled under proper hazmat rules
What the job involves
- Driving manual-transmission tractor-trailers while following FMCSA and DOT rules
- Running pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
- Loading and unloading freight carefully to avoid damage or loss
- Using GPS to plan efficient, on-time routes
- Logging hours, delivery paperwork and any incidents per FMCSA requirements
- Staying in touch with dispatch and customers to manage schedules and sort out any delivery problems
Requirements
- Valid CDL-A with solid commercial driving experience
- Comfortable operating reefer, flatbed, tanker and auto-transport equipment
- Skilled with GPS routing tools
- Strong grasp of FMCSA, DOT and hazmat regulations
- Able to safely load and unload freight by hand, including dangerous goods
- Safe driving record with attention to traffic laws and route efficiency
