CDL-A OTR Trainee — Paid Training, $800/Week

Our company is hiring new CDL-A drivers around Lubbock, Slaton, Idalou and the South Plains for an OTR dry van fleet. You'll start with paid mentor training, then move into a guaranteed pay period before settling into mileage pay.

Pay

• Training pay: $800 a week while you ride with a mentor, 3 to 5 weeks and roughly 200-250 hours of driving

• First 3 months solo: guaranteed at least $1,000 a week

• After that: solo drivers on this fleet typically average between $1,200 and $1,800 a week ($62,400 to $93,600 a year)

• Mileage rate starts at $0.50 per mile, with scheduled raises

• Extra stops pay $15 each, beyond your first and last

• Monthly bonus for performance, plus detention and layover pay

• Paid weekly by direct deposit

Home time

You'll be out 2 to 3 weeks between home stays, and you can request holidays off.

What you'll haul

Dry van freight, running OTR across 27 states from Colorado eastward - no New England or Northeast routes. Expect 1,800 to 2,400 miles weekly, with a combination of drop-and-hook, preloaded trailers and live loads.

Getting started

Orientation runs 2 days or less and pays $300 once you're brought on. Lodging during orientation is paid for, and your bus fare to get there is reimbursed.

Equipment

You'll be assigned a Freightliner, averaging about 1.5 years old, in either automatic or 10-speed. Most trucks come with an APU or inverter, and EZ-Pass and PrePass are provided.

Riders and pets

You can bring along an approved adult passenger. Dogs under 40 lbs are allowed once training is finished.

Requirements

• Class A CDL, age 21 or older

• Recent CDL school graduates are welcome to apply

• No more than 2 moving violations in the last 2 years

• No DUI or DWI within the past 10 years

• Must pass a DOT physical along with hair and urine drug screening
