About this job
This is a 1099 contractor position hauling FedEx Custom Critical freight as part of an OTR team. You'll run nationwide lanes and get paid a percentage of each load instead of a per-mile rate.
Pay
- You and your co-driver can expect to earn around $2,000 to $4,000 or more per week, per driver, depending on freight availability and how active you are
- Pay is based on 22% of the load, not cents per mile
- Settlements are issued weekly
- This is a 1099 contractor role, not a company employee position
What you'll haul
- Freight comes through the FedEx Custom Critical contractor fleet
- Loads are available across the country, with some dedicated lane options
- You'll need to be comfortable staying on the road for 3 weeks or more at a stretch
- When you're on approved home time, you can leave your truck at a FedEx Safe Haven location, and help getting back to your truck is available when needed
Requirements
- At least 6 months of verifiable tractor-trailer driving experience
- You're already running as a team or are open to teaming up with another driver
- No more than 3 incidents on your MVR or PSP record over the last 3 years
- A clean drug and alcohol history for the past 5 years
- SAP drivers will not be considered
- Hazmat endorsement is a plus but not required upfront; if you're hired without one, you'll need to get it within 90 days
- This employer considers applicants with a background history
