About this job

Our company needs an OTR CDL-A driver with RGN extendable experience to haul mobile medical units to hospitals and clinics across the country, based out of the Indianapolis, IN area. You'll handle oversize, over-dimension loads carrying specialized medical equipment that requires careful setup and handling.

Routes and schedule

  • You'll run nationwide, with occasional trips to Canada and Alaska.
  • Expect to be out roughly 2½ to 3 weeks at a stretch, with about 5 days home on average, though this shifts based on the next scheduled run.
  • You'll need to stay flexible since schedules can change on short notice.

What you'll haul

  • Mobile medical trailers of various types, delivered to hospital and clinic sites.
  • Your duties include getting each unit ready for the road, delivering it on schedule, and setting it up so it's ready for use the next day.

Pay

  • This is a salaried, exempt role paying $1,800 per week (around $93,000 per year).
  • Orientation is paid.
  • There's a quarterly incentive program, plus per diem when it applies.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of experience driving a CDL-A tractor-trailer.
  • Current Class A CDL and the ability to drive manual transmission.
  • A clean driving record.
  • Experience with oversize and over-dimension loads, plus RGN extendable trailers specifically.
  • A professional, customer-focused manner, since you'll be interacting directly with medical clients.
  • Physically, you'll need to stand, walk, climb, balance, bend, kneel, crouch and crawl during transports, and be able to lift, carry, push or pull up to 75 pounds.

Benefits

After a 30-day introductory period, full-time employees get medical, vision, dental and life coverage along with a 401(k). Paid time off starts at 10 days (2 weeks) after your probation period, growing to 3 weeks after 5 years, plus 4 sick days each calendar year. A rider policy becomes available after probation, subject to management approval.

The hiring carrier's name is shared with you once you apply through the DriverRoll app, where you can message them directly.
