About this job
Our company Inc. needs an experienced CDL-A driver with RGN extendable trailer skills to haul mobile medical units over the road, based out of the Minneapolis, MN area. You'll move specialized medical trailers to hospitals and clinics nationwide, with occasional trips into Canada and Alaska.
What you'll haul
You'll pick up and deliver mobile medical trailers of various types, prepping each unit before transport, driving it safely and on schedule, and setting it up for the next day's use at hospital and clinic sites across the country.
Schedule
Expect to be out on the road for roughly 2.5 to 3 weeks at a stretch, then home for about 5 days on average, though this shifts depending on the next scheduled run. You'll need to adjust quickly when schedules change.
Pay
This is a salaried, exempt role paying $1,800 per week (about $93,600 a year). Orientation is paid, and there's a quarterly incentive program plus per diem where it applies.
Benefits
After a 30-day introductory period, full-time employees get medical, vision, dental and life coverage along with a 401K. Paid time off starts at 10 days (2 weeks) after probation and grows to 3 weeks after 5 years of service. You'll also get 4 sick days each calendar year, and riders may be allowed after probation at management's discretion.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of CDL-A tractor-trailer driving experience
- Proven experience with extendable RGN trailers
- Experience hauling oversize and over-dimension loads
- Comfortable driving a manual transmission
- Current Class A CDL with a clean driving record
- Professional, customer-focused demeanor, since you'll represent our company directly to medical clients
- Physically able to stand, walk, climb, balance, bend, kneel, crouch and crawl during transports, and to lift, carry, push or pull up to 75 pounds
