CDL-A OTR Reefer Driver — $1,200–$1,400/Week, Trainees Welcome

Run OTR reefer freight across all 48 states for a major nationwide carrier. This drop-and-hook, no-touch route fits both experienced drivers and recent CDL grads, with new automatic Freightliner Cascadias in the fleet.

Schedule

• Expect 3 to 4 weeks on the road, then 3 to 4 days home

• You earn 1 day off for every 6 days out, up to 4 days max

• Freight is drop-and-hook or live load/unload, no touch required

Pay

• All miles are paid

• New to driving: flat $700/week during the 4-week training period

• After training, starting pay is $0.50 per mile, rising to $0.51 after 6 months and $0.52 after 12 months

• Drivers with experience start higher: $0.56/mile with up to 2 years, $0.57/mile with 3-4 years, $0.58/mile with 5-6 years, and $0.59/mile with 7+ years

• You also get $20.00 per stop

• Typical runs cover 2,600-2,800 miles weekly, averaging about 750 miles per haul

• Weekly pay typically lands between $1,200 and $1,400, paid by direct deposit

What you'll haul

• Reefer trailers, 53 feet, running nationwide across all 48 states

Requirements

• Valid CDL-A

• Either 1 year of OTR tractor-trailer experience in the last 3 years, or 6 months of OTR experience plus 120 hours from an accredited truck driving school

• New drivers are accepted too, as long as you finished a 120-hour CDL program within the last 6 months and have zero driving experience

• Clean record required: no criminal history, no drug or alcohol violations, no preventable accidents or moving violations ever, and no tickets on your MVR

• You'll need a TWIC card; the carrier helps you get one and covers the cost

• Your CDL address needs to match the hiring area

• Drug screening is urine-based only; SAP drivers are not accepted
