CDL-A OTR Driver Trainer — $1,750–$2,000/wk Avg + $3,500 Sign-On

Our company is looking for an experienced CDL-A driver to ride along with and train new student drivers over the road. You'll share your cab with students for stretches of up to five weeks, modeling safe habits and good technique while earning premium pay for your experience.

Pay

• Average weekly pay of $1,750-$2,000, based on 2,500 miles/wk

• Earn up to 80 CPM: a 70 CPM base rate plus a 6-10 CPM instructor premium depending on experience

• $3,500 sign-on bonus

• An extra $500 for every student you successfully train

Home time

• Out for 2 weeks at a stretch, then home for 2-3 days

• Steady freight keeps miles and earnings consistent

Requirements

• At least 3 years of verifiable, accident-free Class A driving experience

• Good people skills - you need to be able to motivate and guide new drivers

• Prior training experience is a plus but not required; what matters most is your commitment to safety and teaching

• Able to share cab space with a student for up to five weeks at a time

• Must complete a two-day ICI certification course

• Keep your safety, operations, shop and training performance up to standard

• Attend ICI meetings each quarter

• Take part in ongoing training, both online and in person
