About this job
Our company in South Paris, ME is hiring a flatbed driver for steady, seasonal freight across New England. This is a small, family-run operation with room to grow, running Monday through Friday with occasional overnight stays in the truck.
What you'll haul
Loads change with the season and include lumber, logs, concrete, mulch and similar freight. Runs cover all of New England. Knowing how to tarp a load is a plus, and the ability to operate a crane for unloading logs is also a plus.
Schedule and home time
You'll work Monday through Friday. You can take the truck home during the week, and sometimes on weekends too. Be prepared to stay in the truck occasionally during longer runs.
Pay
You're paid a percentage of each load, starting at 24%, with chances to earn more each week. Weekly pay runs $1,200.00-$1,800.00.
What you'll do
- Load and unload freight safely using the right equipment and methods
- Run your assigned routes and schedules on time
- Follow all traffic laws
- Keep up with routine truck inspections and maintenance
- Log your deliveries, mileage, fuel use and any incidents accurately
Requirements
- Valid CDL Class A and current medical card
- At least 2 years of commercial driving experience preferred
- Clean driving history with no major violations in the past 3 years
- Must pass a drug screening
- Hazmat or tanker endorsement a plus
- Comfortable with route planning and navigation tools
