About this job
Our company in Houston, TX needs a CDL-A driver to pick up sharps and medical waste containers from healthcare customers and provide hands-on, touch freight service. You'll run a straight truck or tractor trailer up to 53ft across the Houston plant's routes on a steady Monday-Friday schedule.
Pay
- Set rate of $26.00 per hour (non-negotiable)
- Full-time permanent position, 45 hours per week
- Overtime opportunities available
Schedule
- 1st Shift, 5AM to 3PM, Monday through Friday
- Stable, non-seasonal work since healthcare waste removal is an essential service
What you'll haul
- Sharps containers and regulated medical waste collected from hospitals and healthcare facilities
- You'll load, unload and organize the truck according to the day's stops, and move containers using a four-wheeled cart that can weigh up to 200 lbs
Requirements
- Valid Class A license with a clean driving record and a current DOT medical card
- At least 3 years behind the wheel of a straight truck or tractor trailer up to 53ft
- Must pass a 7-year FADV check through the Drug & Alcohol Clearinghouse
- Comfortable with pre-trip and post-trip inspections, DOT compliance, hours-of-service logging and roadside inspections
- Hands-on touch freight experience required
- Strong customer service skills and a steady work history
- Experience with soiled linens, ice/liquor/food pallets, municipal waste, or medical/office equipment is a plus
