CDL-A Local Driver / Forklift Operator — Union Scale Pay

Our company in Milwaukee, WI is hiring a full-time CDL-A Local Driver who also works as a forklift operator. You'll handle pickup and delivery close to the consolidation/distribution center, plus dock-style trailer loading and unloading.

What you'll do

• Pick up and deliver cargo near the terminal

• Load and unload trailers using standard dock methods and equipment

• Run a forklift when needed

• Decide how to build and break down trailers to stay within weight distribution laws and work efficiently

• Fill out paperwork and log loading sheets accurately

• Check in freight, inspect your tractor and trailer, and set up the tractor

• Take on other duties as assigned

Actual tasks and schedule depend on the terminal.

Schedule

Hours and days vary by location and can include days, nights, and weekends. You need to be able to work whatever hours this location requires. Travel is minimal, generally 0-25%.

Pay

This is an hourly role paid weekly, at Teamster Union Scale, which runs higher than many other carriers. You'll earn overtime after 8 hours in a day.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED

• At least 1 year of verifiable tractor-trailer experience (less experienced candidates may qualify for training)

• Class-A CDL with doubles/triples, tanker, and hazmat endorsements

• At least 21 years old

• Solid, stable work history

• Clean driving record based on your MVR and past employers

• Able to pass a DOT pre-employment drug screen and meet DOT medical standards
