About this job
Our company in Bridgeport, TX is looking for a Class A CDL driver to haul freight on a 1099 contractor basis. You'll be responsible for safe, timely deliveries and keeping your truck road-ready.
Pay
- $1,200.00 to $1,800.00 per week
- 1099 contractor position
What you'll do
- Drive a manual-transmission commercial truck, following traffic laws and safety rules
- Complete pre-trip and post-trip vehicle checks and handle any maintenance needs right away
- Keep accurate records of hours, deliveries and routes per DOT rules
- Stay in touch with dispatch and customers to manage delivery timing and sort out any problems on the road
- Secure and handle freight properly to avoid damage or accidents
Requirements
- Valid Class A CDL with a clean driving record
- Prior experience driving a truck
- Able to tie down loads
- Solid knowledge of DOT rules for commercial trucking
- Physically able to lift heavy items and carry out inspections
- Must pass a drug test
