About this job
Our company is a small, family-feel carrier in Sedalia, MO looking for an experienced CDL-A driver. You'll run a handful of routes each week, leaving Monday or Tuesday and getting back Thursday or Friday, with weekends off.
What you'll haul
- Mostly flatbed and stepdeck trailers
- Oversize loads available if you want to run them
Pay
- $59,500.00 - $110,000.00 per year
Home time
- Out Monday or Tuesday, home by Thursday or Friday depending on the week
- Weekends off
Requirements
- Valid Class A CDL with a clean driving history
- Background running long hauls, ideally with hazmat, tanker, or flatbed experience
- Solid understanding of federal and state trucking rules
- Comfortable handling hazardous materials safely if the load calls for it
- Able to load and unload freight and complete thorough rig inspections
- Willing to be away for extended stretches and put in long days when the route demands it
- Good communication with dispatch and customers about schedules and any issues on the road
You'll be responsible for pre- and post-trip checks, securing loads so nothing shifts in transit, logging hours and mileage correctly, and flagging mechanical problems right away so deliveries stay on time and safe.
