CDL-A Flatbed Heavy Haul Driver — From $25.00/hr

Our company in Verona, PA needs a flatbed driver to haul heavy industrial equipment to job sites. You'll be responsible for loading, securing and delivering gear safely and on schedule while staying DOT compliant.

What you'll haul

• Heavy industrial equipment on long flatbed semi-trailers, including compressors, ADI machines, ARS machines, dust collectors, sand blast pots, hoses and cables

• You'll chain, strap and tarp each load to DOT securement standards so nothing shifts or gets damaged in transit

• You'll coordinate with job site crews for safe loading and unloading, and may help with general rigging and equipment handling

Pay

Starting at $25.00 per hour.

What the job involves

• Running pre-trip and post-trip inspections per DOT rules

• Planning routes around load height, width and weight, including any permits needed for oversized or overweight loads

• Keeping accurate logs, bills of lading and delivery paperwork, and staying within DOT hours-of-service limits

• Staying in contact with dispatch, operations and customers on pickup and delivery timing

• Catching and reporting mechanical problems, and keeping your truck and trailer clean and organized

• Occasional overnight trips and flexible hours as needed

Requirements

• Valid Class A CDL

• Clean driving record with no major violations

• Meets DOT physical, licensing and medical certification standards

• Passes pre-employment and random drug testing

• 2+ years hauling heavy equipment on flatbeds preferred, ideally with the equipment types listed above

• Knows proper chaining, strapping and tarping for load securement; familiarity with oversized/overweight permitting and route planning is a plus

• Solid grasp of DOT/FMCSA rules and hours-of-service regulations

• Able to lift and maneuver rigging and securement gear up to 50 pounds

• Good communication skills, self-motivated, and comfortable working with minimal supervision
