CDL-A Flatbed & Local Container Driver — $1,300–$2,300/wk

Our company in Houston, TX needs a CDL-A driver to run flatbed and container loads. You'll handle route driving, freight securement and deliveries while keeping things safe and on schedule. A TWIC card is required for this role.

Pay

• $1,300.00 to $2,300.00 per week

What you'll haul

• Flatbed and container freight, including tanker loads or specialized cargo such as hazardous materials at times

• Over-the-road routes requiring careful load securement and unloading of heavy cargo

What you'll do

• Drive tractor-trailers on OTR routes while following FMCSA and DOT rules

• Secure, load and unload freight, including heavy items

• Use GPS tools to plan efficient routes and hit delivery windows

• Complete pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections

• Handle paperwork like delivery receipts, load manifests and hazmat compliance documents

• Stay in contact with dispatch to plan routes and resolve issues on the road

Requirements

• Valid CDL-A with a clean driving record

• Experience with flatbed, reefer, tanker or auto-hauling equipment preferred

• Background in commercial driving, including route and delivery work

• Working knowledge of FMCSA, DOT and hazmat regulations and safe loading practices

• Comfortable operating a manual transmission and doing manual freight handling

• Able to use GPS navigation for OTR route planning

• TWIC card required
