CDL-A Flatbed and Container Driver — $1,300–$2,300/wk, TWIC Required

Our company in Houston, TX needs a CDL-A driver to haul flatbed loads and shipping containers on regional and local runs. You must have a TWIC card to be considered for this role.

Pay

• $1,300.00 to $2,300.00 per week

What you'll haul

• Flatbed freight and shipping containers on regional and local routes

What you'll do

• Secure and transport freight safely in tractor-trailers set up for flatbed and container work

• Hand-load, unload and tie down cargo to keep it stable in transit

• Plan routes with GPS for on-time arrivals and better fuel use

• Follow FMCSA, DOT and hazmat rules whenever dangerous goods are involved

• Check your truck before and after each trip for mechanical problems and load security

• Keep accurate paperwork, including bills of lading, manifests and inspection reports

• Stay in touch with dispatch about routes, delivery status and any problems on the road

Requirements

• Valid CDL-A with a clean driving record

• Experience with flatbed trailers and container hauling preferred

• Solid background in freight delivery or regional route driving

• Experience with reefer trailers, tankers or auto transport is a plus

• Comfortable with loading, unloading and general cargo handling

• Working knowledge of FMCSA hours-of-service, vehicle upkeep and hazmat rules

• Manual transmission experience preferred; must be able to handle freight by hand safely

• A track record of reliable, safety-conscious driving in delivery or freight work
