About this job
Our company in Pipestone, MN needs a CDL-A driver to haul feed from the mill to farm sites. You'll be home each day and get steady, long-term work with pay and benefits.
What you'll haul
- Bulk feed, moved from the feed mill to multiple farm locations
- Loading and unloading at delivery sites, plus cleaning up any spilled feed
- Opening and closing feed bins as needed
What you'll do
- Drive within commercial trucking rules, including speed and weight limits
- Keep up with CDL certification and safety training
- Handle required DOT paperwork and internal recordkeeping
- Secure cargo and equipment before every trip
- Run pre-trip and post-trip checks covering fuel, oil, brakes, wipers and lights
- Check fire extinguishers and other safety gear regularly
- Flag any gaps ahead of annual DOT inspections
- Wash the truck and trailer and handle minor repairs when needed
- Follow biosecurity rules at the mill and at each delivery site
- Let the Feed Mill Manager know right away if equipment is broken or missing
- Work with the Feed Mill Manager and team on safety and process improvements
- Take on other tasks as they come up
Requirements
- Valid Class A CDL and current health card
- Clean driving record
- Able to meet DOT drug and alcohol testing rules
Preferred
- Prior delivery experience
- 3-5 years of driving experience
