CDL-A Driver Trainee — $5,000 Sign-On Bonus, $75,000-$88,000 After Training

Our company is hiring CDL-A drivers to join as trainees, with paid training and hands-on coaching to prepare you for local and regional routes. Dispatch happens in the early evening with overnight deliveries.

Pay

• Drivers earn $75,000 to $88,000 once training is complete, with top earners making $100,000 or more.

• A $5,000 sign-on bonus is included for CDL-A trainees.

• Pay combines hourly wages with miles, stops, and cases.

Schedule and routes

• Routes are local or regional, with early evening dispatch and overnight delivery runs.

What you'll do

As a trainee, you'll ride along and train with an experienced driver, learning how to handle the tractor-trailer safely, including starting the engine, turning, backing, and parking. You'll also help with unloading and delivering product to customers, inspecting the trailer and load for damage or security issues, and using the Driver Delivery Handheld device to log delivery receipts, temperatures, and exceptions. Keeping accurate driver logs (manual or PeopleNet) under DOT rules, performing pre- and post-trip inspections, and providing solid customer service (on-time, undamaged deliveries and handling returns or credits) round out the role.

Requirements

• Valid Class A CDL

• At least 21 years old

• High school diploma or GED preferred

• Able to read, write, and understand English well enough to follow safety and work instructions

• Comfortable doing math to check product quantities and reading labels, instructions, and bills of lading

• Willing and able to select, load, unload, and deliver any product our company customers order

• Capable of operating a 2-wheeled dolly, ramp, and onboard PeopleNet systems

• Must meet our company's internal transfer and promotion eligibility rules

• Background check and drug screening required, per applicable law
