Our company in Baytown, TX is looking for a reliable CDL-A driver who can work independently and stay organized on the road. Routes can be local, regional, or over the road. Pay depends on experience.
Pay
- $48,000.00 - $72,000.00 per year
- Exact rate negotiable based on your experience
What you'll do
- Operate your assigned truck safely and handle flatbed loads so nothing shifts or gets damaged
- Pick up and deliver freight on time, following your set route and schedule
- Get signatures at delivery and double-check that each load matches its paperwork
- Help plan routes and use GPS to stay on track
- Inspect your vehicle before and after every trip, and check weather and road conditions before heading out
- Keep your truck clean and report any mechanical problems or delivery issues to your transportation manager
- Keep accurate logs of your driving, deliveries, and hours
- Follow all DOT rules and traffic laws, and drive according to road and weather conditions
Requirements
- Valid CDL Class A
- At least 1 year of commercial driving experience
- TWIC card required
- Tanker and Hazmat endorsements are a plus
- Clean driving record, no moving violations
- Must pass a drug test
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Able to lift and move loads up to 50 lbs repeatedly
- Comfortable with long hours behind the wheel and long-haul trips
- Self-motivated, dependable, and able to stay calm under pressure
