CDL-A Driver — Doubles/Tankers Endorsements, Mine-to-Plant Hauls

Our company in Vale, OR needs a CDL-A driver to haul ore and materials from mine sites to the production facility. You'll run heavy-duty equipment and pitch in on loading, equipment upkeep and general plant support, working with a lot of independence.

What you'll haul

• Ore and materials from mine sites to the plant, using belt trailers and double belly dump trailers

• Equipment and materials moved between facilities as needed

• You'll load trucks with a front-end loader and tarp materials properly for the road

What you'll do

• Run loaders, forklifts and other heavy equipment when needed

• Stay in touch with the mill control room by radio or cell phone for delivery instructions and daily priorities

• Flag equipment, ore, weather, road condition or other operational issues to the Transportation Supervisor right away

• Watch for and report road hazards or safety concerns

• Check equipment before and during use, and handle routine maintenance

• Help keep plant waste under control so operations aren't disrupted

• Pitch in on other tasks: picking up parts, safety audits, helping train operators, tracking parts inventory

• Follow all transportation and safety rules, state and federal, plus company policy

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED

• Current Class A CDL with Doubles and Tankers endorsements

• Current DOT physical and medical card

• Clean DMV record and solid safety history

• Able to work outdoors in all seasons and weather, climb stairs and ladders, work from heights, and use hand tools like shovels, hammers and wrenches

• Comfortable with the physical demands of operating trucks, loaders and other heavy equipment

• Flexible schedule and good attendance

• Strong communication, attention to detail and decision-making skills; able to multitask in a fast-paced setting

Preferred

• Prior CDL driving or heavy equipment experience

• Background in manufacturing or mining

• MSHA knowledge

• Forklift or warehouse experience

• Basic computer skills
