About this job
Our company is hiring a CDL-A driver in Las Vegas, NV to run freight between Nevada and California. Most runs stay local with occasional overnight trips, and shifts start around 8 or 9am.
Pay
- $30 per hour
Schedule
- Start time around 8am or 9am
- Mostly local routes with occasional overnight runs
- Overtime and flexible hours may be needed at times
What you'll haul
- Freight moving between Nevada and California, delivered to customers and distribution centers
- LTL/city driving experience is a plus
What you'll do
- Operate a tractor-trailer safely on assigned routes
- Complete pre-trip, en route, and post-trip inspections
- Load, secure, and protect cargo during transit
- Keep accurate logs, delivery paperwork, bills of lading, and inspection records
- Stay in contact with dispatch about routes, delays, and any vehicle issues
- Maneuver safely at docks, yards, and customer sites
- Report any accidents, violations, mechanical issues, or unsafe conditions right away
- Help with loading and unloading when needed
- Keep your vehicle and appearance clean and professional
Requirements
- Valid CDL-A with a clean driving record
- Current DOT medical certificate
- Working knowledge of DOT rules, hours-of-service, and compliance standards
- Comfortable driving tractor-trailers in different weather and road conditions
- Able to read, write, and speak English
- Able to work independently with minimal oversight
- Able to enter and exit the truck frequently, and stand, bend, climb, and lift up to 75 lbs as needed
