About this job
Our company is hiring a local CDL-A route driver out of Sparks, NV, running Monday through Friday with a 9am start. You'll pick up and deliver freight within the region and be home every night.
Pay
- $35 an hour
- Sign-on bonus offered
Home time
- Home daily on a local route with dedicated lanes and steady hours
What you'll haul
- General freight moved to and from customer sites and the terminal, loaded and unloaded by hand or with equipment
Requirements
- Valid Class A CDL
- Minimum age 21
- At least one year of commercial driving experience
- Clean record: no DUI/DWI in the last 3 years, no more than 3 violations in that span
- Hazmat and tanker endorsements needed, or willingness to get them (renewal costs reimbursed)
- Must pass a pre-employment driving skills test
- Able to handle physical tasks like hooking/unhooking trailers, climbing in and out of the cab, and moving freight up to 2,500 lbs with equipment or carrying up to 40 lbs by hand
Responsibilities
- Complete pre- and post-trip inspections
- Deliver and collect freight per dispatch instructions
- Keep paperwork in order for DOT checks
- Load, unload, sort and palletize freight at stops and the terminal
