CDL-A Delivery Driver — Up to $70,000/Year Plus Monthly Bonus

Our company, a Performance Food Group company, is looking for a CDL-A driver to deliver food and food-related products to convenience retail customers out of Cypress, Texas. You'll run local, regional, shuttle, and overnight drive-and-drop routes, representing the company at every stop.

Pay

• Earn up to $70,000 or more per year

• Eligible for a monthly bonus of up to $1,600

Schedule

• Monday through Friday

• Dispatch time between 5:00am and 6:30am

What you'll haul

• Food and food-service products delivered to customer locations on set routes

• Freight is preloaded; you'll hook up the trailer, drive your route, and unload at each stop

What the job involves

• Pre- and post-trip inspections of your tractor and trailer per DOT rules, reporting any safety issues or needed repairs

• Checking that freight is loaded and secured correctly, and matching counts against customer invoices

• Completing all delivery paperwork accurately

• Unloading and moving product into customer storage areas, handling damaged goods and returns per company procedure

• Getting delivery confirmations and signatures from customers, and collecting payment (cash or check) when required

• Logging your hours of service daily in line with DOT, state, and company rules

• Keeping your truck and the loading dock area clean and organized

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED (or equivalent)

• At least 12 months of tractor-trailer driving experience

• Valid CDL-A, minimum age 21

• Meets all applicable state licensing and certification requirements

• Clean driving record for the past 3 years

• Able to pass a road test

• Holds or can obtain a current DOT health card

• Able to hand-lift product and use a two-wheeler, lift gate, or similar equipment to move cases ranging from about 10-35 pounds up to roughly 60-90 pounds, depending on location

Preferred: a year or more of foodservice distribution/delivery experience, familiarity with onboard computer and electronic logging systems (such as PeopleNet), hand-held delivery scanning systems (such as POD), and prior customer service experience.
