Our company is hiring a delivery driver in Houston. Shifts start early in the morning and you are home every day.
Pay and perks
- A competitive starting salary (no amount given in the posting)
- $1,000 sign-on bonus where applicable; it does not apply to rehired employees
What you'll do
- Drive deliveries safely, following company procedures and DOT rules
- Work from the daily delivery schedule or plan efficient routes using your knowledge of customer schedules, busy delivery times and alternate roads
- Load and unload your deliveries safely; you must be able to lift or move up to 65 lbs
- Handle delivery authorizations and pickup paperwork, including CODs, and turn them in on time
- Keep orders and paperwork accurate
- Pass customer messages on to the right manager
- Treat customers well and keep a professional look and manner
- Keep your commercial license, endorsements and DOT physical card current
Requirements
- Class A CDL with hazmat and tanker endorsements
- Valid DOT medical card
- At least one year of experience
- Able to drive a manual transmission, if the truck calls for it
- Good customer service skills
- High school diploma or GED
