About this job
Drive a single tractor trailer on local delivery routes out of Everett, MA, with a Delivery Helper riding along to assist with unloading and directions. You'll handle pre-sold product deliveries to customer accounts, working a Monday through Friday schedule.
Pay
- $30.00-$39.00 per hour
- $3,000.00 sign-on bonus, paid in three installments over your first year: $750.00 at 3 months, $750.00 at 6 months, and $1,500.00 at 1 year
Schedule
- Monday through Friday, starting at 5:30am
- End time varies between 1:00pm and 5:00pm depending on your route and workload that day
What you'll haul
- Pre-sold product delivered directly to customer accounts
- Automatic-transmission single tractor trailers
- You'll rotate stock, place items correctly in dry and refrigerated storage, secure pallets for transport, and handle returns, empty containers, dunnage, pallets, and load bars going back to the supplier
Requirements
- Valid Class A CDL in good standing
- At least 1 year of tractor-trailer driving experience
- Minimum age 21 (legally required for transporting alcohol)
- High school diploma or GED
- Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team, with a safety-first approach to driving
- Able to complete a Daily Vehicle Inspection Report and flag maintenance issues
- Good communication and customer service skills for interacting with clients and coworkers
Physical demands
- Job involves indoor and outdoor work in all kinds of weather, including heat and cold
- Regular stooping, bending, lifting, and twisting
- Able to lift around 55 lbs (roughly two cases of beer)
- Comfortable using a two-handed hand truck on stairs and inclines, with frequent walking on both
- Vision and hearing sufficient to safely perform the job
