About this job
Our company is hiring CDL-A delivery drivers in Jacksonville, FL. You will run food products to customers on highway and city streets, back into tight docks and unload by hand. It is hands-on, touch-freight work with a pay rate that grows with your performance.
Pay
- Starting pay is $30 per hour, plus component pay tied to stops, miles and cases.
- Top performers can reach up to $35 per hour.
- Eligible new hires can receive a $2,500 retention bonus.
Schedule
- Monday through Saturday, starting between 3 and 5 AM and running until your route is finished.
- Based in Jacksonville, FL.
What you'll do
- Drive safely and get products to customers on time.
- Unload with a two-wheeler, ramp or by hand into the customer's storage areas.
- Confirm each delivery and get a signature.
- Do pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
- Take payments or collections when the account calls for it.
- Keep customers happy with professional service.
Requirements
- Valid Class A CDL from your home state, with the needed endorsements and DOT qualifications.
- At least 21 years old.
- Six months of commercial driving in any industry, or three months in food or beverage delivery.
- Registration in the FMCSA Clearinghouse.
- Able to read and talk in English well enough to follow road signs, answer official questions and fill out reports.
- Manual transmission skills are preferred and may be required at certain locations.
The physical side
- Repeated lifting, carrying and pushing of 20 to 80+ pounds each shift.
- 10+ stops per shift, in any weather.
- Work in cold environments down to 0 degrees.
