CDL-A City Pickup & Delivery Driver — $31.26/hr Starting

Our company needs a CDL-A city driver in Kaukauna, WI to move freight between the service center and customer locations, handling the equipment and paperwork that come with it.

Pay

• Starts at $31.26 per hour

What you'll do

• Run tractor-trailer combinations, which may include doubles, triples where applicable, or straight trucks

• Complete pre-trip and safety checks on your equipment each day

• Connect and disconnect trailers and converter dollies

• Load and unload freight with a forklift, pallet jack or hand truck as needed

• Secure loads with pallets, straps and rope, and fix damaged freight when you can

• Fill out required paperwork and reports, and follow hazmat rules and procedures

• Collect payment for freight charges when required and keep records of it

• Stay in touch with dispatch on delays, arrivals and equipment issues

• Talk with customers about pickup and delivery needs, build the relationship and flag new business leads for the sales team

• Chain tires when conditions call for it

• Fill in on dock or road driver duties if the business needs it

• Follow all applicable laws, regulations and company policies

Requirements

• Class A CDL with double/triple, hazmat and tank endorsements (hazmat endorsement must be obtained within 120 days of your offer; you can't drive without it until then); automatic transmission restriction is fine

• One year of driving experience in the last three years, or completion of the our company Driver Development Course

• Acceptable motor vehicle record per company hiring standards

• Must meet DOT qualification requirements under FMCSA regulation 391

• If assigned to AZ, CO, FL, ID, IN, KS, MT, ND, NV, OH, OK, OR, SD or UT, must meet the Long Combination Vehicle (LCV) qualification standards for triples, Rocky Mountain Doubles or Turnpike Doubles

• Basic math skills (calculator allowed) and basic reading/writing/speaking ability for logs and communication

• Able to lift and carry freight up to 100 pounds multiple times a week

• Able to sit for long stretches, and to bend, twist, squat and climb in and out of the truck

• Able to follow directions, complete required training, and work solo or as part of a team

Working conditions

• Driving in all weather and road types during your shift

• Exposure to noise, vibration, dust, diesel fumes and DOT-regulated hazardous materials

• Shift hours can shift based on operational needs
