What you'll do
Depending on the route you're assigned, you'll either run commercial pickups, residential collection, or roll-off service. Commercial work involves handling containers that can weigh over 1,000 pounds and backing through tight, busy areas. Residential routes mean maneuvering safely through neighborhood streets and driveways. Roll-off routes involve loading and hauling large open-top or compactor containers, sometimes in low-clearance industrial spots. All of these require strong backing skills and careful navigation of traffic, alleys and lots.
On top of driving, you'll do pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections with DVIR documentation, report any safety concerns or service problems right away, keep communication open with your Operations Manager or Dispatch about customer needs or route issues, and leave each stop clean after fully emptying containers. You'll also take part in required training and help out on other routes when needed.

- Valid CDL Class A or Class B with an air-brake endorsement
- High school diploma or GED preferred, not required
- This is a safety-sensitive role, so expect drug and alcohol testing before hire and periodically afterward (post-incident, reasonable suspicion and random), per company and government rules
