Casual Courier Van Driver — $24/hr

Our company is looking for a casual courier in Cranbrook, BC. You will handle package pick-ups and deliveries on an assigned route, drive a van safely and keep customers informed. Pay is $24 an hour, with a minimum of 4 shifts a month.

Pay and schedule

• $24 an hour

• Casual position with flexible shifts

• You need to be available for at least 4 shifts each month

What you'll do

• Collect and drop off packages along your assigned route, loading the van and planning stops for efficiency

• Check each shipment for correct labels and paperwork, and report your stop counts and any missorts

• Enter accurate details in the computerized tracking and dispatch systems

• Answer customer questions about services and Canada, US and international shipping rules

• Pass any sales leads or market changes to the sales department

• Sometimes help load or unload aircraft and containers, and sort and scan packages, depending on the location and workload

Requirements

• A valid driver's license (for example Class 5, G or 1 [AZ]) and no more than two violations or accidents in the last 24 months

• High school diploma or equivalent

• Pass the required pre-placement driver assessment training

• Able to lift 70 lbs and move packages up to 150 lbs using proper equipment

• Good communication, time management and customer service skills, and comfort working under pressure

• One year of customer-focused work experience is preferred; knowledge of our company operations and Canadian Customs rules is an asset

• In Quebec, you must be bilingual in French and English
